Turning 90 In 2020

Angie Chandler sports her birthday shirt, “I turned Ninety in Quarantine” as she celebrated last week with her daughters, Cindy Tate, Cherie Cotten and Cathy Aldy of Tupelo.

WATER VALLEY – Twenty-twenty has already been a hallmark year for Angelina “Angie” Chandler, who celebrated her 90th birthday last Tuesday. The celebration was in the midst of repairs to her home after strong wind toppled a massive limb, which fell on her roof cracking ceilings and rafters on Sept. 4 at 4 a.m.
Ironically earlier in the year a storm downed tree limbs in the neighborhood, prompting tree services to trim rights-of-way to prevent further damage.
Wearing her shirt, “I Turned 90 In Quarantine,” Chandler celebrated with family and friends in a small gathering. Daughters Cindy Tate of Water Valley, Cherie Cotten of Winona and Cathy Aldy of Tupelo decorated her porch with festive balloons.
The oldest of seven siblings born in the Chicago area, Angelina’s two younger sisters, Joan Venhuizen of Palos Heights, Ill. and Ruth Broertjes of DeMotte, Ind. also joined the family for the observance.
