Delta’s Impact On Tillatoba Brought Two Days Without Power

TILLATOBA NEWS
By Patsy Deck
I’m thankful that Hurricane Delta decided to move on out of here Saturday. We were with out electricity for a couple of days and woke up Monday morning with no phone service.
Doris Hoop was in Atlanta, Ga. visiting her sister, Carole, who is in the hospital.
Christian love and sympathy to the Betty Lee Farrar Myrick family of Grenada. Betty, 87, of Grenada, passed away Saturday, October 10, in Memphis.
Happy birthday to a beautiful 93 years-old young lady, Audrey Ross, of Oakland. Miss Audrey celebrated Saturday in style with some of her dearest friends.
Another special birthday wish is extended to my precious sister, Ann Hudson, who celebrates her birthday the 14th. John Adam Robinson also celebrates his birthday the 14th; Jimmy Dukes celebrates the 15th; and three lovely ladies, Karen Chambers, Faye Hartley and Teresa Ross, share a birthday on the 16th. May you all have a wonderful day celebrating your special day.
Nathan and Betsy Hartley cooked Faye Hartley, Nathan’s mother, a birthday supper Sunday night. Attending were Rowland, Mary Brett, McLendon, Kristie and Mark Hartley. Faye said it was delicious and she really enjoyed it. I bet she did because there are some good cooks in that family.
Faye, Mark and Kristie Hartley are all decorated for Christmas. Faye sent me a message saying I need to come see. I know it is beautiful. When it comes to decorating, Faye and Kristie are the best!
Martha Box has been busy for a few days with company from Texas and Missouri. I know they got in some good eating. Martha says she is still upset over all who started this asinine 2020 Covid shut-down-the-world stuff, but otherwise she’s happy, healthy, wealthy and wise and certainly blessed. Yes you are, my friend.
Deborah McCool said they stayed in all weekend, but there was a highlight to staying home. Their two granddaughters, Caitlyn and Hannah Beavers, actually got to spend the night with them Saturday. Debbie said it was the first time in over six months. And of course, the electricity went out, but she said it was still great having them stay again.
Darlene Melton goes to the doctor on the 21st to see if she is going to get more shots in her back. Her brother, Bobby Melton, of Oakland died Sunday morning at 4:30 a.m. with just old age and heart disease, Darlene said. He leaves his wife, Gussy Melton. No arrangements have been made at this time.
My husband, David, decided we are too old to be climbing in and out of his truck because we have to step so high to get up in it. He went to Grenada Monday morning and purchased us a Nissan. Maybe we can manage getting in and out a lot easier.
Thought for the day….There’s a big difference between free speech and cheap talk.
