What a beautiful and blessed day Easter Sunday was. We sat on the porch and watched traffic.
David and I went to Batesville and got our second Covid shot last Thursday. He made it pretty good, but it didn’t like me as much! I started feeling like I was going to live again Sunday afternoon. I’m glad it’s all over with and we made it pretty good. Jason Beavers came by to visit and told David it put him in bed for a couple of days. Glad you are feeling better, Jason.
Thank you, Diane Dukes, for the fish supper and for the wonderful dessert you sent down. It was much appreciated and enjoyed.
Congratulations to Savannah Nobles, who will graduate May 6th from RN school. So proud of you Savannah!

Our special guest Friday was little Mills Deck of Gluckstadt. Of course, we were also happy to see his daddy, Logan Deck. Mills spent the day with us while his daddy went to Tennessee to purchase a new truck. It had been a year since we had seen either one of them, so it was a great day. I had forgotten how much a little boy eats! We had fun and he said he wasn’t going home with his daddy. But he had no problem leaving us when his daddy arrived.
Martha Box said the good news is although He died for us, He rose and we are so BLESSED!
Martha had a wonderful meal and gathering with her family and friends at Ginger and Phil Harrison’s residence. Addie, her great granddaughter, had a good egg hunt with Phil’s mom, Diane Hill, hunting with her. Just to keep her from hunting alone, huh Diane? Sounds like Diane enjoyed it too!
Jake Harrison’s birthday was Monday, so they also celebrated the MAN’S birthday Sunday. Martha said 20 years ago Honey, (Martha’s late husband) and I were there when he arrived. WOW!
Josh Harrison and Marnie Box were happy to see Miss Lillie Whitaker, their cousin. Lillie is Martha’s granddaughter from Water Valley, and she brought a friend with her.
Aunt Linda Harrison was with them too and they all were enjoying the beautiful day, warm and free and open.
Mark, Faye and Kristie Hartley had a big egg hunt and lunch Saturday at their home. Those attending were Mark, Kristie, Nathan, Betsy, Rowland, Mary Brett and McLendon. Faye said they were all excited hunting eggs. Grown ups had fun eating. Faye cooked a lot!
Those having Easter lunch with Jessie Williams Sunday were her son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Shelia Williams of Scobey; her daughter, Sandra McCallua; and Darcy McCulla of Grenada, and her grandson, Justin Brassel. Jessie said they had a nice lunch.
Friday, Festus Hailey and his brother, Mike Hailey, of Houston had a brothers’ day out. Mike came and picked up Festus early that morning and they went to Roxie, Miss. and visited the graves where their parents are buried. They had lunch and visited some interesting historical places. It was around seven o’clock when they got back to Tillatoba. Festus was one tired man, but happy to have a day out with his brother.
Eugene, Peggy and Erick Bailey had 28 family members at their home on Easter Sunday. Peggy was so excited telling me about seeing them all, she could hardly talk. All of her children were there; all her grand children except one; great grands and she said a great-great grand. Eggs and food galore. I could hear them laughing and having a good time through the woods!
Happy birthday to Tara Williams Upchurch and Chase Newman, who share a birthday the 10th; and to Betty Fly Neal and Dot Arnold Champion, who share a birthday on the 13. I pray you all have a great day.
Thought for the day….Only one person in the world can defeat you. That is yourself.
