Eight ladies who work at 220 Truck Stop and restaurant left Friday headed to Hardy, Ark for a retreat and fellowship for the weekend. Martha Box said a prayer with the girls before they left. Those going on the retreat were Sheila O’Bryant, Candy Box, Jo Jo McClanahan, Tracey Gosnell, Melissa Bloodworth, Peggy Brewer, Charis Holcomb and Samantha Smith. The girls made it home safe and sound and reported having a wonderful time.
Martha Box had all of her kids visiting – Ben Box and family, Ginger Harrison and family, and Candy Box and family; and all grands except for one granddaughter, Lilly Whitaker. Lilly couldn’t make it this time. Martha also had some of her friends over for a delicious meal during Memorial Day weekend. The group included Charles Shumpert and wife, Glenda; Tim Little; Rhonda Sanders; Joeann Cordell; Steve Mitchell; Melissa McClendon and son, Jon Dillion; and Diane Nail Hill. They reported good cooking by all and a real good time with a lot of fun and laughing.

Keith Beck had back surgery two weeks ago at the Tupelo hospital and is doing well since the surgery. He goes back for a checkup in Oxford Wednesday, and he and his mother will both go to the pain clinic in Batesville Wednesday. A busy day for them both.
Phillip Williams from Shelby, Alabama, is visiting his mother, Jessie Williams, for a few weeks. Maybe I’ll get to visit with you, Phillip, while you are here. I missed seeing you the last couple of times you were here visiting. Jessie had a doctors appointment Monday morning so I didn’t get to talk to her.
Peggy Bailey said she, Eugene and Erik had a quiet Memorial Day with just the three of them there. She said all the other kids had plans to go somewhere else. She cooked ribs, baked potatoes and snap beans.
Young Rowland Hartley has been playing in the all star games. They won their first two, but they are rained out for a few days. His Nana, Faye Hartley, hasn’t missed a game since he started playing.
