The Valley’s Signature Event Is This Weekend
WATER VALLEY – It’s that time of the year again – for the 51st time in the city’s history the watermelon will be celebrated. Thousands will gather at City Park and around town to participate in activities that range from the walk/run to class reunions, all set to a musical beat provided by day-long entertainment from the park gazebo.
Activities kick off Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. with a reception tea honoring Watermelon Queen Maggie Kate Kuchta at The Simmons House Historic Venue & Inn on McClarty Street. Friday and Saturday will be action-packed with a full line-up of entertainment and events in City Park
