School Slots Will Be On November Ballot

WATER VALLEY – The qualifying period for school board elections is underway for a school board seat in the Water Valley School District and one in the Coffeeville School District. The five-year terms are staggered, meaning typically one position is on the ballot in both districts each November. Both school districts are divided into five sub-districts.

In the Water Valley School District, Position 5 is on the ballot. Chris Terry currently serves in this position. The Position 5 district is also on the ballot in Coffeeville. Todd Hughes currently serves in this position.

The deadline to qualify is 5 p.m., September 3. Candidates must obtain signatures from 50 qualified electors who reside in the position they are seeking. The new terms start in January, 2021.
