True to his word, the weather man said we would have warm weather for Christmas and we did. I’m glad in a way so the little ones could play outside.
We had Christmas Eve dinner Friday with our daughter in Grenada, Donna Garripoli. Brad, Frankie and Bradley Holliday joined us. Christmas morning we got up early and rode to Sunflower to see what Santa had brought grandson, Brewer Deck. We visited with Derek, Jane Clair and Katie and then came on back and rested the rest of the day.
John and Kathy Dukes took all their children and grandchildren to see the Christmas lights at the Memphis zoo.
Diane and Terri Dukes visited Diane’s sister, Ellen Parker, in Greenville on Sunday afternoon.
Sam and Anna Pullen had a busy Christmas visiting his grandmother, Elizabeth Pullen Whitten, in Big Creek last Sunday. This weekend they spent Christmas Eve with her grandparents, Billy and Nancy Chambers; and Sunday with her paternal grandparents, Harvey and Diane Vance and family.
J.R. Dukes, son of Bubba Dukes, got a new boat from Santa Claus and went to his first tournament on Sunday.
Holly Dukes’ grandmother, Carol Gentry, from Florida was in Enid visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rabbit Havens, for a few days during the Christmas holiday. She got to spend some time with her great granddaughter, Haven Rose Dukes. I bet she spoiled my great grandbaby.
Vickie Parkers’ granddaughter, Trinity Hughes, from Leland is visiting with her this week to bring in the new year.
Jake and Nancy Rose had his family, Ben and Josh Fisk and their children, visiting on Christmas Day.
Martha Box said her news is “I’m still working on me! God is still real. HIS SON IS STILL OUR SAVIOR. What a birthday party we had for HIM! It was a great family time.”
Ryan Donovan broke both bones in his right arm late Sunday afternoon. He had surgery Sunday night in Greenwood. Ryan is the son of Emily Tillman Donovan and Steven Donovan.
Billy Jack Williamson had a motorcycle wreck Sunday afternoon and was flown to Regional One Health in Memphis.
Covid has invaded Tillatoba. Trudy Simmons was admitted to Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford on Sunday. Jean, Eddie and Vivian have All been sick. Ollie Dogan and Patricia Lindley have Covid. Barry Kelley went to the doctor Sunday and was diagnosed Covid and double pneumonia. Now Geneva is having chills and fever.
Myra Dempsey was asking for prayer for her granddaughter, Laina, and great granddaughter, Kadynce, who tested positive for Covid. Myra’s daughter Windy is sick and going to be tested.
Tommy and Debbie McCool spent Christmas with her daddy, Ray Bell; and her sister, Karen, at her daddy’s home. Karen’s daughter-in-law and her grandchildren were there also. Both of Debbie’s and Tommy’s girls, Kimberly and Jason Beavers and Angela and Pat Dukes and their families were there.
Faye Hartley said they had a wonderful Christmas in their home with Nathan, Betsy, Rowland, Mary Brett, McLendon, Kristie and Mark – lots of good food and fellowship and presents. I know the kids were so excited.
Happy birthday to Kevin Harris and Hayden Jackson, who share a birthday on the 27th; Ronnie Bailey and Jerry Martin share a birthday on the 28th; Henry Jackson, Connie Cockerel and her son, Casey Cockerel, Adam Chambers, Donnie Dotson and Jean Simmons Durham all share a birthday on the 29th; Phillip Cross and Tamitha Jackson celebrate on the 30th. May you all have a blessed birthday.
