“I got my end,” Larry Sprouse reports as he manned the forklift to help Jake Moorhead and his crew lift equipment through the window in the former Varner’s Printing building last Thursday.
WATER VALLEY – There was some heavy lifting on Main Street last Thursday morning as Jake Moorhead and his crew moved equipment into the former Varner Printing building. Moorhead purchased the equipment from a nearby business to launch Valley Printwear, a screen printing operation, with plans to open early this summer.
Moorhead is also the owner and founder of Moorhead Offroad Engineering, specializing in UTV (side-by-sides) suspension and related components.
“We are putting Water Valley on the map in the off-road industry,” Moorhead explained about his business located at 101 Industrial Park Road in Water Valley that ships products across the country and the world. “We ship to Canada weekly, to Australia and Africa. We think of side-by-sides around here for fishing and mud riding. But in many parts of the world they are used for transportation,” Moorhead explained.
Moorhead said his new printwear business will serve his existing customer base as well as local customers.
“We were going to order some T-shirts and ended up buying the business,” Moorhead explained about purchasing the equipment from an Oxford business and moving it to Water Valley. “There are so many businesses around here that need T-shirts and other products.”
Valley Printwear will be located at 417 N. Main Street.
