WATER VALLEY – A safety checkpoint on Jones Street led to a drug arrest last Wednesday, May 11. Water Valley Police Chief Jason Mangrum reported Holly Howell Turner, 56, of Water Valley was charged with Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance.
Officers made the arrest after detecting the odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed alleged methamphetamine in Turner’s purse. She was booked in the Yalobusha County Detention Center.
Mangrum also reported Cameron Holmes, age 18, and Roddarius Torrance, age 23, were each arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, two counts of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances on Tuesday, May 10.
The arrests of the Water Valley men came after officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle parked at Berkshire Apartments. During the investigation into the vehicle, officers detected the smell of marijuana. During the investigation approximately 90 grams of marjuana, oxycodone pills, and hydrocodone pills along with two firearms were located in the vehicle.
