“These weekends go too fast,” says Debbie McCool.”

Not much going on here, she adds. They went to Grenada Sunday morning and had breakfast and then hit Walmart  for yard stuff. Then they went on to church where Drew Tillman gave a great sermon. Sunday afternoon they worked  in their yard. It shows because they have a pretty one.

Congratulations to Josh Harrison! Josh won second place in the Conservation Visual Presentation contest at 4-H Club Congress held last week at Mississippi State University.

J.R. Dukes had a good day fishing with his buddy, Ethan Taylor at a tournament at Enid Lake Saturday. They came in third place and managed to get in the money with no prefishing.

Martha Box reports as far as news my friends, “I am still me. Not nearly as superwoman as I was. Flying much lower these days.”

Martha’s little garden bed worked her good. She pulled more grass this week than her whole yard has. She found three overlooked, OVERGROWN zucchini Sunday afternoon.

Martha’s sister, Joyce Stevens of Oakland, cooked lunch for her a couple of times this week. Joyce is a good cook so I know she fed Martha good!

Martha added that she has been doing the Watusi and the Stomp all day, every day trying to kill thousands of millipedes creeping through out her house this past week. Course her waist and hips have curved up a bit from all that dancing!

Martha said she enjoyed a great supper and evening Saturday night with Gloria Mitchell and Danny Downs – a much needed relaxing, laughing night.

Rowland Hartley, son of Betsy and Nathan Hartley is playing on the Batesville all star team. Keep up the good work, Rowland. We may see your name on baseball cards one day.

Wanda Crawford, Debbie Hayles, Mali Jarrell and Shelia Jackson ate at Enid Catfish Hut Sunday. I know they had some good eating.

Diane Dukes said all of her grandkids went swimming in her pool Sunday and all of them enjoyed it. She’s glad they did too because getting it ready for the summer is a job! Diane said she really does love to  watch them swim.

Happy anniversary to Charles and Carolyn Pyron, who celebrated 52 years of wedded bliss on Saturday, June 3.

Happy birthday to Alex Ferguson on the 7th; Jake Rose, Kelly Paris, Charles Pyron and Jonnie Sivley share a birthday on the 8th; Dusty McKibben celebrates the 10th; and Bo Williamson and Stacy Langham share a birthday on the 11. I hope you all have a great day celebrating.

I saw a picture on Facebook of Dixie Purdy Fernandez riding around with her daughter, Angela. I’ve never seen Dixie look so beautiful.

I was in Oxford Monday morning at the Charles Retina Institute to start back with shots in my eye. They will start back giving them in my right eye, plus my left eye. Say a prayer for me that the shots help this time.

Thought for the day… It’s better to bite your tongue than to eat your words.
