WATER VALLEY – The first annual Water Valley Fire and Police Fun Day is schedule Saturday, June 25, from 11:30 to 5 p.m. at Crawford Sports Complex. Water Valley Police Chief Jason Mangrum reported activities are schedule for youth including touch a truck, bounce houses, food trucks, police and fire demonstrations and helicopters.

In law enforcement news, the chief reported the following arrests:
• Anthony Gooch, 39, of Water Valley was arrested on June 12 for DUI. The arrest was made at a safety checkpoint on Boyd Street.
Jaquis Lumas, 27, of Grenada, and Tina Jackson, 32, of Kilmichael, were each arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule II, on June 11. The arrest was made at a safety checkpoint on Boyd Street.
• Samuel Tullos, 46, of Water Valley and Megan Meadows, 32, of Denham Springs, La. were each arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule II, on June 10. The arrest was made at a safety checkpoint on Hwy. 7.
