Sunday afternoon, August 21, was the beautiful setting for the baby dedication of Hallie Bren Deloach, daughter of Cody and Beth Tillman Deloach.

The rain has been plentiful for the past few days! We finally got some squash in the garden and now can’t get in there to get it out for the mud! David and Tim managed to pick a few before it started raining.

No big fish today but, the rain didn’t stop us from having a good time reported J.R. Dukes as he and two friends fished on Enid Lake Saturday. The fish they were holding up looked big to me!

Martha Box was still busy as a bee making honey all last week! Her daughter, Ginger and Phil found her napping in her recliner at 6 p.m.! I didn’t know Martha ever took time to nap!

She reported good music, good friends and good times Tuesday night at Market Square. She also took care of a lot of running around business all week. Martha didn’t get too tired to have a great time with friends New and Old Saturday night. Great visit and supper at Magnolia. Then we danced, she said!

Martha said, “God is still pouring out blessings and healing encouraging words and spirit through Pastors and singers. The spirit flowed over us all again today. Amen.”

Roseann Rose celebrated her birthday by going to Butcher’s Fish and Steak House in New Albany Saturday night. Accompanying her were Jake, John Luke, and Logan Rose, Brad, Frankie, and Bradley Holliday of Grenada, Dan Spratlin, Kim Garrett, and Kim’s son were also in attendance. I think you have celebrated enough, Rosie!

Faye and Kristie Hartley went to Pensacola, Florida week before last for a much needed vacation. Faye said they loved it and they had a blast!

Happy birthday to our sweet, beautiful little two year old, curly red headed, great granddaughter, Haven Rose Dukes on the 26th and Nancy Chambers is celebrating hers on the 26th, Allen Newton and Nick Traywick share a birthday on the 27th, Louise Gaither on the 28th, Ann Fly Kirk on the 29th and Chad Eskridge on the 30th. I pray all of you have a great birthday and many more.

Terri Dukes has been busy the past few weeks working and moving into her new residence, the Morris And Nora Hendricks home. I have always loved that house and the big front porch. Diane Dukes is the owner now and has had a lot of work done on the house. I know Terri will enjoy living there.

Peggy Bailey, my sweet friend and Eugene’s coon hunting buddy, was in the hospital for four days and was released Saturday. Their son, Erik, stayed with his brother and family, Jeff and Margo Bailey of Pope while Peggy was in the hospital.

Thought for the day…When you flee temptation, be sure you don’t leave a forwarding address.
