WATER VALLEY – A case scheduled for trial Monday morning in Yalobusha County Circuit Court in Water Valley was postponed after the defendant was arrested for additional charges.
Water Valley Police Chief Jason Mangrum reported Timothy Aaron Dewberry, 41, of Water Valley was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography Friday as part of an ongoing investigation stemming from a sexual battery charge last year. A jury had been summoned for Monday’s trial for the sexual battery charge. Dewberry was first arrested on March 13, 2021, for alleged sexual contact with a minor child. Mangrum reported the charges will be likely be combined and a new trial date will be scheduled.
Dewberry posted a $60,000 bond, $30,000 for each new count, and was released Friday following booking in the Yalobusha County Detention Center.
