The Water Valley Christmas parade will roll at nighttime this year.
WATER VALLEY – The Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce reports exciting new changes to the annual Christmas parade while keeping it a night-time event. Chamber parade organizer Tonya Eubanks shared the parade date is Friday, Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m. Parade entries will line up starting at 5 p.m. in Crawford Sports Complex and the parade will flow north on Main Street. The changes will allow more space for the line-up. The theme for this year’s parade is “Songs of the Season.”
The Chamber is also encouraging items in addition to candy to be distributed during the parade. Suggestions include soft bouncy balls, wristbands, glow necklaces and bracelets and beach balls. Candy distributed during the parade should be wrapped.
There are five categories for entries: a business or organization float, a business or organization non-float, march band or school organization, street legal and tagged vehicles including antiques or emergency vehicles and an “other” category. Registrations forms are available from the Chamber of Commerce office and must be turned in by Nov. 25. The judges will be located on the bandstand again this year.
