Entries Needed For Rotary’s Great Chili Cookers Roster

The Rotary Club of Water Valley will hold the 7th annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Pocket Park on Main Street. This annual event is held in conjunction with the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Holiday Open House. There is a $10 fee to enter, and you will need to contact Cinnamon Foster via Facebook, Phyllis Goodwin (662-473-7112, call or text) or Justin Canterbury (662-617-9903) to have your name placed on the “Great Chili Cookers Roster.”

Please have your chili in a crock pot and bring it to the park before 10:30 am so that judging can begin at 11 a.m.  Rotarians will be selling the chili from 11 until 2 p.m. for $5, which includes cheese, Fritos and a soft drink. The master chili-eating judges will award first, second and third place prizes of $100, $50, and $25. Any food establishment that wishes to enter the contest is not only in the running for the cash prizes above, but will compete for the “BEST In Business Chili” trophy to showcase at your business.

All proceeds from this event will go toward the Water Valley High School band’s fundraiser. For more info, be sure to check Rotary’s Facebook page and upcoming Herald editions.
