Band Director Extends Gratitude To The Community

To say that I am absolutely blown away by your selfless generosity is a huge understatement. The amount of support our humble band has received is absolutely phenomenal. Because of your love and support for the band, we have been able to exceed our goal of $9,000! That means that all of our students who play percussion will have new instruments during our next marching season.

The drums the band will purchase with your generous donations are Pearl Championship drums. These drums are of top quality and used by many great ensembles, including the “Pride of the South,” Ole Miss’s Marching Band. However, because your gifts went above and beyond, the band is also able to buy new drum carriers and stands to help the students with transporting their instruments to games and events.

The band is grateful for every donation that we received, but special recognition is due for a few outstanding donors. First of all, thank you to Mechanic’s Bank for your donation of $1,000. Second, thank you to the Water Valley High School class of 1973 for your donation of over $2,000, and the anonymous donor who matched the donation. Last, Thank You to Johnny Herod for your $1,500. The band is very grateful for your donation and Mr. Stanley Crow would be honored to know you have supported the band in such a way.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and a band is no different. You have proven through your donations that you see the hard work our students put in and want to see them grow even more. So, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you Water Valley community for supporting your Water Valley High School Band.

Sincerely,

Wesley Brown
Band Director
