WATER VALLEY – Mills Collision and Towing was presented the Business Spotlight Award by the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce on Monday, January 9. Launched by the Chamber in 2016, the award honors merchants, businesses and individuals who excel in their support of the community and are involved in local activities.
Mills Collision and Towing is owned and operated by Jeff Mills. The business is located at its newer location, 4054 Highway 315, Water Valley. Before the construction of the new facility, Jeff was a partner at Mills Brother ‘s Body Shop on Main Street in Water Valley for 31 years.
Mills started his career in the automotive world with his father, Thomas Mills, at the age of 14. During the last three decades, he has worked alongside automotive specialist, Troy LaCook, also a Water Valley native. They have a combined total of 79 years of experience, so you are sure to receive an expertise and knowledge that goes along with the reputation of their work.
“We have repaired a lot of vehicles, and we take pride in our work and treat people the way we would want to be treated,” Mills shared.
This is important to Mills. In today’s world, customer service seems to be in short supply or non-existent.
“Customer base is important. We have spent decades earning the trust of our customers, because without them we wouldn’t be here. There have been a lot of changes in the automotive industry in the 44 years, but the one constant we have always enjoyed is our customers,” Mills proclaims.
Along with collision repair, Mills Collision has a 24-hour towing service and consistently completes training and certifications for this component of his business. Jeff is a second generation towing service operator, following in the footsteps of his father.
Mills Collision is committed to constantly improving its techniques and business and a new state-of-the-art, computerized, color-matching system to ensure your paint color will match perfectly with the rest of your vehicle was recently installed.
Jeff has been truly blessed in being able to help and support the city and county operations, and is as a long-time supporter of the Water Valley schools and athletic departments. Jeff takes extreme pride in helping out locally – repairing and painting playground equipment for the city park, sponsoring youth for trips, or just pulling someone out of a ditch.
One of Jeff’s first community projects dates back to the early 1980s, when he was asked to repair and paint the eagle that sat atop the old Bank of Water Valley building.
To say that Mills Collision is all about Water Valley, would be an understatement. Jeff is married to Water Valley native, Christy Mayo Mills of 40 years. They have one daughter Courtney who is married to Vaughn Daniels.
They have a grandson, also known as their “customer relations personnel,” Wyatt Daniels. Courtney, Vaughn and Wyatt also live in Water Valley and Wyatt attends school here. Vaughn is an educator and coach and Christy has been employed at Dr. Barry Weeks’ office, located on Main Street in Water Valley, for 30 years.
LaCook is also a Water Valley resident. His four children all attended and graduated from Water Valley High School.
Water Valley is very fortunate to have really good insurance agents that have their client interest at heart, and Jeff enjoys the business relationship with the agents. With the exception of a home purchase, a vehicle is one of the costliest purchases most people will ever make. Jeff takes extreme pride in returning that vehicle to its pre-loss condition with help from our local insurance agencies.
Mills Collision and Towing would like to thank all the citizens of Water Valley and the surrounding areas for their confidence and continued support for so many years. Jeff looks forward to serving you in the future and remember “There truly is no place like home.”
