More Indictments Served From Dec. 1 Grand Jury

WATER VALLEY – Six additional people have been served following indictments handed down by a grand jury in the Second Judicial District on December 1. The list of suspects indicted from the last grand jury includes:
• Jeffrey Darrell Jones was indicted for five drug charges. The charges include sale of a controlled substance – cocaine on October 26, 2021; sale of a controlled substance – methamphetamine on October 26, 2021; sale of a controlled substance – cocaine on October 21, 2021; sale of a controlled substance – cocaine on November 10, 2021; and sale of a controlled substance – cocaine on November 17. Court documents report that in each of the five counts, Jones allegedly sold the narcotics to a confidential information.
• Christopher Eugene Wells was indicted for one count of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The offense occurred on May 30, 2021.
• Clardis Edward Galloway was indicted for one count of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The offense occurred on December 6, 2021.
• Holly Howell Turner was indicted for possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The offense occurred on May 11, 2022. With two previous felony convictions, Turner was indicted under the Mississippi habitual offender statute and could face a stiffer sentence if convicted.
• Robert S. Anderson was indicted for two counts of sale of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The first offense occurred on December 1, 2022 and the second offense was on February 24, 2022. Anderson waived his arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty.
• Christopher Decorion Schneider was indicted for one count of a drive-by shooting. According to the indictment, Schneider discharged a weapon toward another person while that person was in a vehicle on September 6, 2022.
The grand jury handed down indictments on a total of 42 true bills during the December term. An indictment is a formal charge, meaning that the members of the grand jury found probable cause that a person committed a crime. The indictment is not proof of guilt, instead it triggers the criminal proceedings.
