Mt. Liberty News
By Melissa Brooks

I hope you’ve all had a great week. It’s been good here. We had a work day at church Saturday. It’s looking so good. We’ve been wanting to get some things done with the hedges and things to spruce it up. Thank you to everyone who came to get this done.

I wasn’t able to go to church Sunday. We go some to stay with Doc (Dr. Denman) and this weekend we were there. He’s doing good since his stroke, but is still recovering. Rosalyn took notes for me from the sermon Bro. Grant Coffey delivered Sunday morning.
Joel 2:27-28 – This is a promise from God. He is promising His spirit which is the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:1-4 – Tells what happened on the day of Pentecost and what the Holy Spirit can do when we believe

Acts 2:38 – The Holy Spirit is a gift from God. We didn’t have to work for it. We receive it when we get saved and baptized. The Holy Spirit is also what makes us powerful

Acts 1:8 – Jesus says we will get power when we receive the Holy Spirit. We are not helpless anymore after this point. This is the game changer in our lives.

Matthew 28:18 – Jesus was given all the power and authority over heaven and earth but it wasn’t just given to him, we also get that same authority and power through him.

John 14:12 – Jesus says that those of us who believe in him will do the things he did and possibly even greater than his works. Jesus’ promise here may be an indication of the power we have through the Holy Spirit.

You are not defenseless or powerless but powerful with the gift of the Holy Spirit. God can work through you when you are saved, baptized and receive the Holy Spirit.

Another soul was saved at Mt. Liberty. Jacob Guitreau made a public profession of faith and was baptized Sunday night. The Holy Spirit is moving. I am so amazed to see the work being done. I hope you all have a great week. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11.
