Tillatoba News
By Patcie Deck
Well, here we are starting the last month of the year. Can you believe how fast this year has gone by? Only 24 days left for your Christmas shopping.
Your writer and David had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with daughter, Donna Garripoli, Brad, Frankie, and Bradley Holliday, Timothy Sullivan, Summer, and Miranda Procella. We had the traditional Thanksgiving feast and it was all so good.
Faye Hartley, Kristie, Mary Brett, and Mclendon went to Tupelo Saturday to the flea market and Christmas shopping. Faye said,
“We had a blast. Rowland Hartley killed a huge deer this week. I’m so proud. We had Thanksgiving supper at my house Friday night including me, Mark, Kristie, Nathan, Rowland, Mary Brett, and Mclendon Hartley, and Tyler Welch. Lots of food and fellowship.”
I heard from Debbie McCool and she said, “We had Thanksgiving at daughter Kimberly’s. Tommy worked until 2, then we went down there. Jason and Caitlin, Hannah, Dallas Boyett, Virginia and Sandy Beavers, and Trey Pegham were there. Ate too much. After church Sunday, we then went to the funeral for Frances Defenbaugh. She was a very sweet lady. I am going to miss her.”
Martha Box just told me she wished everyone had as much of a wonderful Thanksgiving as she did. She said, “My house was full of food and love Thanksgiving Day. Diane Hill, Linda Harrison, my kids, and grands cooked so much grrrrrrrrrreat food. All I did was make tea, rolls, and gravy! Had to sit on my hands all day to keep from cooking something!
“Then a wonderful, happy Box Family Thanksgiving at Dave’s and Donna Box’s house. Wow, more great foods, great hugs, and love from some loves I had not seen in a while. All the singing and laughter filled my soul.
Martha went to Wayne and Donna Box’s Saturday, but got called away. Did get the hugs and looked at all that great food before leaving. The emergency was stabilized, and they are still praising God.
“Wonderful, beautiful ride over to Willow Springs Assembly of God Sunday and a great preaching/teaching, encouraging message it was. Thank you Brother Tommy Darby for leading us so well,” Martha added.
Caught the tooth fairy flying around Tillatoba the other day and I think she landed at Scotty Simmons’ house. I hope she left you a lot of goodies.
Starting our December birthdays, Deborah McCool and her granddaughter, Caitlyn Beavers, and Wanda Winters all celebrated the 1st, Dave Box and Darlene Moorman the 2nd, Stephanie Holliday the 3rd, Keith Venable the 5th, Maci Mclendon Scott, Cody Mclendon, and Walker Jeffords celebrate on the 6th, Jimbo Whitaker and Art Jenkins share a birthday the 7th, Freda Weir and Tara Rotenberry celebrate the 9th, and my great-grandson, Bradley Holliday, and Mahaley Hames celebrate the 10th. I pray you all have a great day celebrating your birthday.
