Congratulations to the Dizzy Dean 10U team of Grenada for winning the 2023 World Series championship game played at Southaven, Sunday. Charlie Brooke Bowman of Tillatoba is on the team.
Tommy and Deborah McCool went to Greenville Tuesday afternoon of last week and took Tommy’s sister, Alice Kellum, with them. They stayed the night and visited with their sisters. Wednesday afternoon before they got home, Deborah’s brother, Ronnie Bell, and sister-in-law Elisa called, saying they were coming to visit. They stayed until Sunday morning. Deborah said her daddy really enjoyed having them stay a few days and they did too. They all had a good visit with everyone. Family, that’s what it’s all about!
Mike and Ronda Hailey of Houston visited Festus, Ruth Jane and Amanda Hailey Saturday. They always have a good time when the Hailey brothers get together for a visit.
Sunday, our visitors were Donna Garripoli, Miranda and Summer Procella. I fixed chicken sandwiches with fresh tomatoes from the garden.
Later, Brad and Bradley Holliday came and Brad worked on the pipes under our kitchen sink and behind our washing machine. Bless his heart, I know he was tired because they had just gotten back from a long weekend stay at the Christian Retreat Center in Vossburg near Meridian.
I talked to Peggy Bailey by phone Monday morning and she said she may get to do therapy again so she can walk with a walker. That will be wonderful, Peggy. She goes Thursday for a MRI.
Happy birthday to Melanie Stephens on the 10th; Ruth Jane Hailey and the Coffeeville Courier on the 11th; Jackie Bowman the 13th; Dale Dukes and Stina Taylor the 18th; and my sweet great granddaughter-in-law, Holly Dukes and Tommy McCool share a birthday on the 19th. May you all have a great day celebrating.
Martha Box had lunch with her sister, Joyce Stephens, a few times this week. They enjoyed eating at the Cracker Barrel in Batesville after an eye check-up in Oxford Wednesday. Martha’s old friends,
Ronnie Bell and his sweet wife from Oklahoma, were eating there. She said it was so good to see them.
Ronnie was surprising his dad, Ray Bell, and sister, Debbie McCool, with a visit. Martha said it sure surprised her seeing them there.
Martha’s plumber, granddaughter, Marrissa, did a fine job replacing the sink faucet.
“She does take after me, Superwoman and Wonderwoman,” says Martha.
Martha also said she had a wonderful visit at Tillatoba Baptist Church Sunday with a great, spirit-filled message from Bro. Ricky Harris and music that touched the heart. Martha loved visiting with neighbors.
Donnie Toole celebrated her birthday Saturday evening at The Kennel Club in Batesville! Those in attendance were Donnie, Lee Toole, Maddie Toole and Amy Smith Toole; and sisters, Margaret Wilbourn and Louise Arnold.
Thought for the day: one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.
