Phillip Tillman has scheduled a book signing for his latest publication, “I Wanna Go Home.” The signing is scheduled at the Tillatoba Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, July 29, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The book is a biographical account of the lives of Carolyn and Phillip Tillman and heavily weighted with his 22 years in the military. Phillip is a native of Tillatoba. Books will be available as gifts from Tillman. However if anyone wishes to make a donation by giving their gift to the church or charity of their choice in memory of Carolyn and Harvey Tillman may do so.
Ryan Donovan, son of Stephen and Emily Tillman Donovan of Belzoni and grandson of Johnny Tillman of Tillatoba, will entertain at intervals with his violin during the signing. Light refreshments will be served.
Christian love and sympathy to the Tommy Hill family of Senatobia. Tommy passed away at his residence on July 14. Visitation was held July 17 from noon until 2 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m.
Martha Box ran into Al Irwin and his son at Catfish Hut Sunday after church. They shared a good meal and good talk. She said getting to visit with Al certainly topped off a good week.
Barry and Doris Hoop made it to Springfield and came back through Poplar Bluff, Mo. where they stopped and visited Garry Bratton and Doris’ sister, Rhonda. It was a nice getaway visit for them.
Daisy Isbell went flying in a small air plane last week at the Panola County Airport. She reported it was fun. Daisy, her husband, Mickey, along with Michael (Mickey’s son) and his family enjoyed this day at the airport. Kelsie Isbell works at the airport.
Daisy added that she has been canning tomatoes and Mickey has been working on a flower bed for their house.
Guess who said they were Dancing through her workouts to get her muscles to curve instead of bulge? Did the Bop, the Twist and the Locomotion while making a few loaves of Peanut Butter bread. All that stirring should have helped.

Martha reported great music and supper at Carmella’s in Grenada last Tuesday. She said she loved, loved, loved Friday’s ventriloquist at Tillatoba Baptist Church. Wish you could have seen all those happy beautiful children !
Martha got dressed for church Sunday morning, got in the car and said, “Lord lead me where you would have me today.”
And He did.
She landed at Willow Springs Assembly of God and the message was perfect for her. Bro. Tommy Darby preached a strong message to dance for the LORD when the spirit moves us. She also reported very touching singing and music at the service.
Sadie Harper goes to cardiology doctor Wednesday. Sadie is still battling pneumonia but she is better than last week.
Josh Harrison has been busy this past week. He attended Northwest Mississippi Community College Orientation on Thursday. On Friday and Saturday he competed in the State 4-H .22 shooting competition, where he placed fourth and qualified to go to the national shooting competition. Jake, his big brother, also had a fun week where he voiced two news spots that aired on SuperTalk Mississippi radio on Thursday. He is working at SuperTalk as an intern this summer.
Jake and Josh are not letting any grass grow under their feet!
Happy anniversary to Larry and Terra Payne, who celebrated Wednesday, July 12; and happy anniversary to Joe and Juanda Williams, who celebrated the 17th.
Happy birthday to Patricia Lindley on the 21st; Bro. Mike Ramage on the 23rd; Martha Box, my childhood friend Sandra Craig Anderson, Patti Ramage and Ernie Holliday share a birthday the 24th; and Sadie Harper celebrates the 26th. I pray you all have a wonderful birthday!
