Can y’all believe it will be November by the time this news comes off the press. I wonder if the young folks are having a problem with time flying. Maybe the earth is spinning faster, I don’t know but my head has been spinning a little lately. My granddaughter, Miranda, says “that is inner ear trouble, grandmother.”
Woke up Monday morning with the light sound of rain outside, something we have been praying for and need.
Congratulations to Laura Holliday Moorman of Cleveland who received “Teacher of the Year” award at Bell Academy. Laura is my grandson by marriage and Brad Holliday’s favorite sister.
Chase and Lorraine Newman are so proud to welcome Luke Henry Newman to their family. Born October 25 at 12:07 p.m., he weighed seven pounds, nine ounces and was 19 inches long.
We had a blast for fall fest at GranCare said Faye Hartley! If you walked in and saw a bigggg queen with a little head all dressed in pink with a gold ruffle around the waist, that was Faye.
Jason and Kimberly Beavers put in new flooring in the kitchen and back hallway for Deborah and Tommy McCool. Those two are the Jacks of all trades and help out a lot of people in anyway they can. A special couple!
Deborah McCool said her dad, Ray Bell, is doing well and his hip is healing. He goes to Dr. Weldon Tuesday and Wednesday then to Dr. Guerrero to start back on his cancer treatment. Ray had been staying with his daughter, Deborah, but like most of us old folks, he wanted to go to his house so Deborah and Tommy have been staying with him and taking care of him. She’s working part time and his granddaughter, Kimberly, is with him when Deborah works. They are taking it one day at a time and praying for the best.
Braxden Dukes celebrated his 11th birthday this past weekend at Incredible Pizza in Memphis. Those in attendance were his siblings, Audree and Connor Dukes, Bradley Holliday, and John Luke and Logan Rose. Braxden got to spin the prize wheel because it was his birthday! Bradley said they had such a good time he wants his party there in December!
Martha Box says Jesus does see me through every day. What could we do Without Our LORD?
She had a sweet visit from granddaughter, Lilly Whitaker, of Water Valley and Lilly’s friendboy and her granddaughter, Addie, Sunday afternoon. Daughter Ginger, along with Phil and Josh Harrison, brought spaghetti and sweet potato pie. Martha said it was so good.
Her other daughter, Candy, had a birthday Sunday. Martha went over on with a cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to her. Said she was going to let her rest Sunday.
James Lee Sturdivant had a fun day at Tupelo Buffalo Park and Pumpkin patch Sunday.
Haven Rose Dukes went with Anna and Joanna Pullen to Logan Brown’s birthday party in Coffeeville. When the party ended, they loaded up and went to the campground in Grenada for Halloween.
Haven Rose didn’t go because she didn’t like being scared when they started getting dressed. She wanted her daddy, so Anna brought her back home to Waylon and Holly.
Hollis Bloodworth of Cascilla is asking for our prayer. Hollis was the owner of the store I always called the Rosebloom Crossing. He is a good and fair man who treated everyone with respect.
Daisy Walton Burlison is at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota this week for tests. Her surgery was successful and they removed 95 percent of the blood clots from her lungs. Daisy will be back in Mississippi hopefully by the end of the week or sooner. She is so proud of her new great grandson, Charles Rufus Moyers, and can’t wait to spoil him.
Our special visitors Sunday were Waylon, Holly and our little Haven Rose Dukes and Donna Garripoli. Earlier this week, Donna and our granddaughter, Miranda Procella, came and did a little cleaning including my old refrigerator. They put the good stuff in our side-by-side that Donna gave us. We are really enjoying the “new to us” fridge.
Happy belated birthday to Dean Herron on the 28th and to Mary Katherine Smith on the 30th. Starting out our November birthdays are Kristen Sturdivant Townsend on the 1st, Virginia Beavers and Dale Arnold on the 2nd, Trinity Hardin the 3rd, Emily Little the 4th, Margie Crawford the 5th and Gary Chambers celebrates the 7th. I pray you all have a great day of celebrating!
