Well, I think Old Man Winter is here for the next few months. It’s time to pull open those trunks and dig out your long Johns. I remember years ago my daddy wore the one piece with a flap in the back and they only came in one color, white! Now they make the two piece thermal in all different colors. Either way, they are warm.
Deborah McCool and her daughter, Angela Dukes, went to Southaven shopping recently. Angela told her mother she needed a day away from everything so she took her shopping. Deborah said she had a wonderful time.
Dana Huff visited her mother, Sheryn Goode, Friday and they shopped and ate. Dana put flowers on her daddy, Joe Wiggins’ grave.
A late day Thanksgiving dinner was reported at the Marceleno’s residence in Tillatoba. Lynn said they were blessed and thankful to have their daughter, son-in-law and grandbabies for a visit even though they left two grands at home. So glad they could come to visit. They went ahead and had their Christmas with Charlie and Sunni Cheyenne Anders and boys, Robbie and Walker, while they were here.
Martha Box said she was fat as a stuffed turkey because she had Thanksgiving three days in a row.
“Wow, you talk about food. So many good cooks in our family!” she reported.
Martha also said it is beginning to look like Christmas now! Addie put up a tree the other night. After supper Friday night, three of her grands, Jake, Josh and Lilly decorated it. Martha had a great visit at Willow Springs Assembly of God the last two Sundays. She reported the emotional, spirit-filled songs had her tears flowing! Bro. Tom gave a very thought provoking message regarding end times after the coming of Jesus our Lord. Martha encourages us all to be saved and lifted up when HE comes!
Daisy and Mickey Asbell had her family over for Thanksgiving Tuesday. They went to Mickey’s son’s house Thursday for another one and reported good food and good fun with family.
Deborah McCool said everything is still pretty much the same with her daddy, Ray Bell. He is still in the Charleston hospital in a swing bed. They are pretty sure he will be coming home next week. Pray for Ray and his family. Deborah said they are all doing good, staying with daddy and trying to work some.
Friday morning, Tim Sullivan and David Deck visited in the home of Donna Garripoli, where Tim met his half-brother, Ricky Smith, for the first time. Ricky and his wife, Anna, and their two sons live at Bay St. Louis, Miss. Rickey is the head baseball coach and athletic director at Pass Christian High School. It was a bitter-sweet reunion!
Faye and Mark Hartley and family had a big Thanksgiving. Nathan, Rowland, Mary Brett Hartley and Kristie Hartley Swope visited and ate a lot of food. I know Faye put the food on the table! She always puts the “big pot in the little pot” as the saying goes.
We certainly had a wonderful meal cooked by yours truly and my daughter, Donna, and granddaughters, Miranda Procella and Frankie Holliday. The men didn’t shy away from the table either!
I had a good conversation with friend Peggy Bailey Monday morning by phone. She said to tell everybody that she’s doing fine. She really sounded good. Eugene is still in the nursing home and doing pretty good. He celebrated his 86th birthday on Nov. 27. Not like he would like to, I’m sure. It’s too cold to coon hunt, Eugene! They had all their children visit at Thanksgiving but not all at one time, Peggy said.
Visiting with Frank and Freda Weir recently was her brother, David Melton, and wife Kathy from Augusta, Ga.
Happy anniversary to Cody and Beth Deloach on December 1. I hope you two love birds have many more years to celebrate!
Happy birthday to Kathy Hartley, Mason Tillman and Tammie Lott on the 28th. To start our December birthdays off are Deborah McCool and her sweet granddaughter, Caitlyn Beavers, Wanda Winters and Carolyn Toole Via, Dave Box and Darlene Moorman, who all celebrate the 2nd; Stephanie Holliday on the 3rd; Keith Venable on the 5th; and Maci McLendon Scott, Cody McLendon and Walker Jeffords celebrate the 6th. I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating.
Thought for the day… All my life I thought air was free until I bought a bag of chips.
