Will it rain or won’t it? Chamber president Tonya Eubanks is keeping a close eye on the forecast to see if the weather going to be naughty or nice for the Christmas Parade on Friday night. A decision will be announced no later than noon on Thursday.
WATER VALLEY – The Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade organizing committee announces a contingency plan in the event of bad weather.
In the event of rain, the Christmas Parade scheduled for Dec. 1 will be postponed to Dec. 8, exactly one week later.
“With Christmas just around the corner, the Chamber is committed to ensuring an enjoyable experience for all parade participants and spectators,” says chamber president Tonya Eubanks.
The organizing committee will closely monitor weather forecasts in the days leading up to the event. A final decision on whether to proceed with the original date or activate the contingency plan will be decided no later than noon on Thurs., Nov. 30. Updates will be posted on the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and also shared on the North Mississippi Herald site.
“We appreciate the understanding of our participants, sponsors, and the community at large,” added Eubanks. “The Water Valley Christmas Parade is something we all look forward to all year, and we want to present a memorable and safe event for everyone.”
