Happy New Year to all my faithful readers! I pray you have a great, healthy and prosperous 2024!
Please pray for Nathan and Judy Farmer family and their five children. They lost their home in a house fire Friday morning and lost everything. Thank you, Jesus, for sparing their lives.
Ed Harper, Milton and Sadie Harper’s son from Indianapolis, came in for a week! The Harper’s grandson and family also came in from California. They all enjoyed Christmas in Southaven Mit and Dea Harper’s home.
“We all ate good. Lots of food,”said Sadie.
Martha Box said, “I know I ate Christmas four different meals and places.” “Getting into my jeans on the 1st will be tuff.”
Great happy fun loving Christmas, she added!
Martha’s ready for the New Year and already cleaning up and her tree is down. Martha said she never does this til January 2, but she is working on her “Brand New Attitude!”
“Wishing everyone a blessed, happy and productive 2024,” she said.
Wishing the same for you Martha.
Shelia Jackson enjoyed having Christmas dinner with her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Mickey Reeves, last Saturday. Shelia had all her children, grand children and her little nine-month-old great grandson, EJ Jackson. Lil EJ said he had a hard time eating that deer meat with only two “widdle” bottom teeth.
The Phil Harrison family had a blessed Christmas holiday. The boys, Jake and Josh, sang in church on Christmas Eve and did a great job. They had Christmas Eve supper with Ginger’s momma, Martha Box. She made biscuits and Candy Box made tomato gravy, sausage gravy and chocolate gravy!
“Yep, we ate too much” said Ginger. “It was a fun evening. We spent Christmas day with Phil’s momma, Diane Hill. She fried the deer Phil killed and it was fabulous. We gonna have to fast the whole month of January.”
Faye and Mark Hartley enjoyed Rowland, Mary Brett, McClendon and Nathan Hartley and Kristie and Chase Swope, who all came for Christmas Eve. They reported great food and gifts.
Christmas morning David and I along with my son, Tim Sullivan, went to our daughter’s, Donna Garripoli, in Grenada for Christmas dinner. It was a delicious meal with everything imaginable. Just as we got to the living room to let our meal settle and open Christmas gifts, I got so sick and weak. After taking something for nausea and an antivert pill, I felt well enough to come home. I slept all that afternoon and night and most of the next day.
Those enjoying the meal with us were Brad, Francesca and Bradley Holliday and Miranda and Summer Procella.
Peggy Bailey was happy that all her children and grands visited Christmas Eve night. They ate and opened gifts. Peggy said last Christmas she was in the hospital, so she really enjoyed this Christmas.
Grandson Junior Dukes and friend, Kat Benson, visited Christmas night but I was sick and in bed. David got to visit with them. I hope Junior brings her back soon so I can meet her and visit! Waylon and Holly Dukes and precious Haven Rose also visited during the holidays.
Can you believe we are starting January 2024 birthdays. What happened to this past year? They say as you get older time passes faster and I believe it!
Happy birthday to Jeff Tillman, Carolyn Pyron and Margaret Crenshaw Wilbourn on January 2, Lisa Jones on the 6th and Jessie Tillman on the 7th. I pray you all have a wonderful birthday!
Thought for the day… I never forget a face, but in your case, I’ll be glad to make an exception.
