Valentine’s Day is Wednesday and I hope it will be a sweet day for you with a box of candy, flowers or just a sweet card.
The ones attending had so much fun at the Tillatoba Baptist Church’s Valentine’s Day Banquet! It was an evening full of good food and good friends. Jill Elliott McLendon did a wonderful job organizing the event. Several people helped her with the food and decorations. I’m afraid if I tried to name them all, I would leave someone out.
Congratulations to Breanna and Josh Sturgis on their beautiful little baby girl, Ann Ella Sturgis, born February 9. She weighed eight pounds, 15 ounces and was 21 inches long. Welcoming baby Ann Ella is big sister, Ava Greer.
Martha Box reported she was busy but got nothing done this past week. She added that she rested up. Martha and her sister, Joyce, went to Oxford to get her ear examined. They had a great time shopping and had a great lunch.
Martha’s grandson, Josh, with the “In Debt” band stirred up the crowd Saturday night.
Those young’uns sure can pick and sing. Martha said she about wore her dancing shoes out. She enjoyed Ginger, Phil and Marnie being there too.
Martha reported a wonderful Church service Sunday at Willow Springs.
“Bro. Tommy sure encouraged us as Christians to work and pray to lead everyone to Christ’s Salvation,” Martha said. “And the music so moved the soul!”
“Lunch at the Hut with Joyce was Grrrrrrreat. Came home to nap but was awakened by my granddaughter, Rissa, rebuilding my broke shelf. She is so much like I used to be,” said Martha. “She can fix anything!”
Deborah McCool said not much is going on with them. She feels better, still coughing, but not so bad. She said it was great to feel well enough to go to church Sunday and actually go inside instead of staying in the car. She and Tommy went to Batesville Sunday morning and had breakfast before going to church.
I got the cutest FaceTime call Saturday night from my grandson, Bradley Holliday. He was in New Orleans at the Family Time Mardi Gras. He was showing me all the beads and stuffed animals he had gotten and I promise you his neck was loaded down as well as his bed! They made it back home in time for the Super Bowl game and his team, the Chiefs, won. He FaceTimed me again after the game and he had a big ole grin on his face! I would say he had a great week end.
Happy anniversary to Roy and Sherry Anderson on February 17. I think it’s their 11th . Steel is the traditional gift for the 11th anniversary, Roy, so you better come up with something good! Just don’t get her anything she can cook with or clean house with!
Happy birthday to little Sawyer Grace Bowman and to my great-great nephew, Chris Davis, on the 12th; Rose Brown and Billy Brassel celebrate on the 15th; Agnes Lane Parfilio on the 16th; Peggy Bailey, Doris Hoop, PJ Dukes and Ellen Parker celebrate the 17th; Ben Box on the 18th; May Ellen Marlow and Joy Tippit share a birthday on the 19th; Morgan Eskridge and Daryl Burney celebrate the 20th; and Johnny Tillman, Bubba Tillman and Ping Pong Paris share a birthday the 21st. I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating your birthdays.
Your writer goes the 14th for a nuclear stress test and another test. Please pray that they can find out what’s going on with my AFib and why I’m having these spells that I’m having. Thank you in advance.
Thought for the day….We can only learn to love by loving.
