Mt. Liberty News
It has been another wonderful and blessed week at Mt Liberty as two more souls were saved. James Floyd and Rosalyn Ĺeard made a public profession of faith and were baptized. The Bible tells us there will be a revival. God’s people are coming forward. It is such a blessing to see these young people coming forward and giving their lives to the Lord.
During church services Sunday morning we had a moment of remembrance for soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for our freedom.
We had a moment for the soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for our freedom Sunday morning. We are so thankful to them and to their families.
It’s easy to say we will give our lives for our loved ones but doing it is a different thing. But could you sacrifice you give your life for someone you didn’t know, someone who will never know you or someone who even hates you?
Here are a few highlights from Sunday’s service:
• John 15:13-18 – Jesus tells us that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends.
Jesus gives us three commandments and verse 13 shows us how much he truly loved us.
Jesus is telling us not to worry about being hated by others because he was hated too in verse 18.
Jesus was able to go to the cross for the ones he loved and the ones who loved him but also for the ones who would never know him and the ones who hated him also.
• Matthew 22:37-40 – Has two of the three commandments that Jesus gave us to love God and to love our neighbors
• John 13: 34-35 – The third commandment he gave us to love one another as he has loved us. And in Chapter 15 verse 13 he shows how he loved us.
• 2 Peter 3:9 – Tells us that God doesn’t want anyone to perish but to be in heaven with him which is why Jesus died for us before we even knew him.
Jesus gladly gave his life for you even if you weren’t keeping his commandments. He came to find those who are lost.
I hope you all had a safe and happy Memorial Day. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us at Mt. Liberty Church. The Spirit is alive and moving. Services start at 11 each Sunday morning.
