Mayor Cuts Ribbon For The Stitchery
Mayor Tommy Reynolds and the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors welcomed a new business, The Stitchery, with a ribbon cutting last Thursday. The business is located at 32 South Main Street and owner Camille Breckenridge (right of mayor) reported it is the only needlepoint store in Mississippi. Other handcrafts will be included with grandmillenial and local designs.
Breckenridge shared that she launched the new business to share her creative hobby with others locally and across the state. Her intent is to create a comfortable space for connection – a space where others can share their hobbies and learn from each other. Inventory can be viewed on the website, thestitchery ms.com.
“There are so many creative people here, so I have made space available for various classes, kids happenings and small events. I love my hometown and this is my way of giving back,” she reported.
Also pictured is Breckenridge’s husband, Kent Breckenridge, a Water Valley native and retired educators, and their daughter, Sloan Garner, a PhD student at the University of Georgia. Camille and Kent are fondly known as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, appearing at many events in Water Valley and multiple states each year during the holidays.
