Election time is fast approaching and the Yalobusha County Circuit Clerk’s office wants it to be a smooth process for the voters in the county. The Presidential Election is scheduled Tuesday, Nov. 5. Absentee ballots will be available on Sept. 23. Oct. 7 is the deadline for new voters to register to vote in this upcoming election.
Circuit Clerk Daryl Burney reminds voters that if you have moved and forgot to change your address at the circuit clerk’s offices, please do so before the election.
“Remember, if you vote in a district that you do not live in, your vote could be challenged and not counted. You must vote in the district you reside in,” Burney reported.
You can check your address by calling or stopping by the circuit clerk’s offices in the Water Valley (662-473-1341) or Coffeeville (662-675-8187) courthouses. You can also go to the Mississippi Secretary of State (SOS) website and follow a few instructions to check on your status.
To check online at the SOS website, go to https://www.sos.ms.gov/ and click on “Elections and Voting.” Then select “Y’all Vote” and click on “Voter Registration Verification.”
