The Holiday Open House in Water Valley this past weekend was a terrific success! Our local businesses opened their doors wide, welcoming friends and families from all over with Valley friendliness and warm smiles. Shoppers enjoyed finding the perfect gifts for their loved ones, all while supporting our wonderful, locally-owned stores. The town was buzzing with holiday spirit, and each shop offered a unique charm that added to the magic of the day.
Door prizes kept everyone on their toes, and the grand prize – an impressive $500 Chamber gift certificate – made the day even more exciting. Here’s a rundown of the lucky winners who took home some fabulous local prizes!
Backtrack Antiques & Gifts awarded a $25 gift certificate to Gail Caldwell, while BTC Grocery gifted a jar of local goodies and a $25 certificate to Jo Ann Plunkett. Chopsticks presented three lucky winners, James Person, Crystal Parrish, and Ruby Bennett, with $15 gift certificates each. Courthouse Cafe’s generous $50 gift certificate went to Chelsey Reeves, and El Charrito’s $25 certificate was a delightful surprise for Hope Gray.

Kathy Sargent received a $25 certificate from Hummingbird Bakery, and Larson’s Cash Saver awarded a $50 gift certificate to Cindy Smith. Main Street Treats gave Andrea Clement a hearty hamburger steak meal, and Midtown Auto Parts presented Mike Eubanks with a $25 certificate. Mulberry Lane’s gift certificate found a happy recipient in Cathy Sartain.
Nabors Home Center added some practical fun with a Milwaukee tool for Lashon Polk, while Laurin Johnson received a cap from Rebel Southern Apparel. Sartain’s Home & Auto’s Nebo lantern went to Eddie Foster, and South Main Boutique spread joy with four $25 gift cards to Dorothy Schwinn, Martha Massey, Anna Langham, and Lee Ann Stewart. Sweet Mama’s Restaurant provided a $40 gift certificate to Tiyonna Melru, while The Blue Melon Rendezvous offered lovely watercolor greeting cards to Brittany Dudley.

Special congratulations go to Jo Ann King, the lucky winner of the Chamber’s $500 grand prize! Jo Ann now has a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a shopping spree at any Chamber-member businesses in Water Valley, making her holiday season even brighter.
A heartfelt thank you to our local businesses for their generous contributions. The Holiday Open House truly set the tone for the season, and we’re already counting down Christmas in the Valley on December 6, and to the Christmas Parade on December 13.
With the theme “Christmas Shows & Movies,” this year’s parade promises to be a stroll down memory lane, complete with all our favorite holiday classics. I can’t wait to see what floats everyone will come up with. There’s nothing quite like the joy of Christmas traditions, and with the parade just around the corner, it’s safe to say the holiday magic is in full swing in the Valley!
