Mt. Liberty News

I think the big topic this week is going to be the weather. Y’all it is cold!! Monday I went to Tupelo and it snowed the whole way. We all know I’m not too happy right now – I need summer back ASAP.

We had a great service Sunday morning. Brother Grant Coffey brought us the message from Micah 7:7-8. Micah shows an unshakeable faith and provides us an empowering message. Even in darkness, God shall be a light. Micah puts his faith in the one true living God. He says, “when I fall, I shall rise.”
Struggling is a universal experience. We often feel defeated and discouraged. We shouldn’t wallow in self-pity. Like Micah, we should use our struggles as an opportunity to grow and have faith.

1 Peter 4:12-13 tells us we shouldn’t be surprised when trials come. We’re not exempt. Instead, we should rejoice, for when God’s glory is revealed, we will be glad with exceeding joy. Experiencing troubles give us a chance to show God how faithful we truly are. Going into 2025, know that there will be storms. The question is, how will we handle them? Let’s learn from the mistakes of 2024, and have more faith in 2025. Trust in the true, living God.

We want to shout happy birthday to Garrett Coffey. We’re also happy to say we have a baptism coming up. Ms. Nanette has rededicated and we are so proud for her. We also ask for prayers for Bro. Gary Potts. He had a mild stroke, but is doing great and back home. We want to continue to pray for him.

My Mom goes Thursday for a procedure, so please pray for her. We all have things going on so just be mindful of everyone. You never know what a person is going through. It’s important to try to always show kindness.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. Check on your people as we get through these cold days. If you’re looking for a home church or would like to visit, we welcome you to join us. Services start at 11.
