WATER VALLEY – The grand jury in the Second Judicial District in Water Valley handed down indictments on nine true bills during the Dec. 10 session. The indictments have not been served and remain sealed until the accused is served by law enforcement. An indictment is a formal charge, meaning that the members of the grand jury found probable cause that a crime was committed. An indictment is not proof of guilt, instead it triggers criminal proceedings.
The list of indictments:
• One count of sale of fentanyl (10 to 20 doses);
• One count of sale of methamphetamine;
• One count of possession of tetrahydrocannabinol (with firearm enhancement);
• One count of DUI, fourth offense;
• Two counts of possession of methamphetamine;
• One count of possession of cocaine;
• One count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; and
• One count of commercial burglary (habitual offender).
The grand jury in the First Judicial District in Coffeeville also met on Dec. 10, handing down indictments on seven true bills. The list of indictments are:
• Six counts of sale of methamphetamine; and
• One count of sale of fentanyl.
