I hope it’s been a great week for everyone. Things have been good here. We’re getting ready for our Valentine’s dinner at Mt. Liberty Church and can’t wait for the fun and fellowship. Billy Brooks had a birthday and Toby and Chandler Shaw celebrated an anniversary. We were very happy to celebrate with them.
Bro. Grant Coffey brought a wonderful sermon Sunday morning from Acts 26:1-7. Paul had been falsely accused by his own people and had been imprisoned for two years. When he was finally given the chance to speak for himself, he said, “I think myself happy.”
That says so much about Paul. We tend to be glass half empty. We tell ourselves we don’t feel good, we don’t have enough, and the list goes on. Our minds are a powerful thing. If you wake up and say you’re not feeling good or you’re tired, you will feel tired or unhappy.
Paul was looking at what really matters. Jesus defeated death so that we could have eternal life. He wants us to have life and life more abundantly. He wants us to enjoy this time we have, but the end result is being with our Father in Heaven. That’s what truly matters.
I suffer from panic disorder and sometimes I have a really hard time with it. This message meant so much to me. It’s very hard when your brain tells you something is wrong that isn’t wrong. Now, I try to pray my way through the attacks. More often than not, it helps. I hope you all have a great week. I’m enjoying the beautiful weather we’re having. If you’re looking for a home church, join us. Services start at 11.
