Spring is right around the corner, and that means it’s almost time for an important tradition here in Water Valley—the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors election! Pretty soon, Chamber members will get ballots to vote for new board members, and that’s a big deal for our town.
This isn’t just about filling some seats on a committee. It’s about choosing the folks who will help keep our town moving forward. The people who serve on the Chamber board do it because they love Water Valley and want to see our businesses and community thrive. They don’t get paid for it, but their hard work makes a big difference in all our lives.
The Chamber of Commerce is here to support our local businesses and keep our town buzzing. Whether it’s helping new businesses get started, promoting local shops and restaurants, or putting on huge events like the Watermelon Carnival, the Chamber plays a big role in making Water Valley a great place to live and also to visit.
These events and initiatives don’t just happen on their own. It takes planning, teamwork, and a lot of dedication from people who care. That’s where the Chamber’s board members come in—they’re the ones behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly, and our town keeps growing in the right direction.
Serving on the Chamber board isn’t just about attending meetings—it’s about rolling up your sleeves and getting things done. It’s about brainstorming ideas, solving problems, and working together to make Water Valley the best it can be.
So, when those ballots arrive, take a minute to think about who you want to help shape Water Valley’s future. Look for people who love this town as much as you do and are willing to put in the time and effort to make a difference. This is your chance to have a say in who leads the Chamber. These board members will be making decisions that impact local businesses, community projects, and the events we all love. So when you get that ballot, don’t toss it aside—fill it out and send it back.
In other exciting news, do you have a favorite local Chamber member business that always goes the extra mile? A place that not only provides great service but also gives back to our community, supports local events, and makes Water Valley feel like home? Now’s your chance to give them the recognition they deserve!
When you received your ballot for board members, check out the “Business of the Year” section and learn about this brand-new honor, created to celebrate a Chamber-member business that truly represents the heart and soul of Water Valley.
Write in your choice whether they are big or small, new or well-established, to nominate a business that stands out and makes Water Valley a better place for all of us—whether it’s by creating jobs, helping to revitalize Main Street, supporting local schools and charities, or simply making customers feel like family. The winner will be announced at the Chamber Reception, so don’t miss this chance to show your appreciation.
To everyone running for the board—thank you! Your willingness to step up means the world to this community. And to all our Chamber members—thank you for your support. Whether you’re voting, volunteering, or just showing up to our events, you’re part of what makes Water Valley such a wonderful place to call home.
Happy voting, y’all!
