Do you ever feel like your body is drained That’s the way I’ve felt lately. I lost my last two brothers-in-laws within a week’s time, last week. Please pray for the Tommy Hudson family of Grenada and the Willie Deck family of Marble Hill, Missouri.
Your writer got to visit with my niece, Nan Robertson of Greenville and my great niece, Maci Scott of West Point, Saturday afternoon.
Physical therapy working the foot well, says Martha Box. Between the therapists and working it, Martha hopes to get out of boot on June 16 and will be up and at em again.
Martha reported seeing a lot of friends at Sis. Scarborough’s funeral.
“Prayers for the comfort of her family and friends. A great, leading lady left a path for the way to heaven,” Martha said.
Your writer’s visitors this week were Bobby Joe McClanahan, Miranda Procella of Georgia,
Donna Garripoli, Derek Deck of Cleveland and Susan Bell of Caledonia. Susan came Friday night and brought supper and a delicious caramel cake. Susan came for Tommy Hudson’s funeral and left going back home Saturday after the funeral.
Miranda brought Georgia peaches and tomatoes. That’s what was for supper! Donna brought a couple of portable fans for us to use until our electricity was restored. Boy did they help!
The Phil Harrison family attended the funeral of Mrs. Delores Scarborough in Grenada on Sunday afternoon. Phil, Jake and Josh served as pallbearers. Her sweet spirit will be dearly missed, says Ginger. Continued prayers for Brother Scarborough and his precious family.
Nathan and Kristie Hartley gave their mother, Faye, Dwight Yoakam tickets for Mother’s Day. Faye, Kristie, Annie Box and Tyler Welch went Friday night and had the best time.
Rowland Hartley played ball all day on Saturday. His team was runner-up in the tournament and Sunday, Nathan gave Mary Brett a big birthday party. It was fun. She turned 11. It is so hard to believe that You are 11 years old, Mary Brett!
All three of the Hartley kids – Rowland, Mary Brett and Mclendon – won a AR reading trophy. Mary Brett scored highest in typing and Rowland highest in writing. Congratulations!
A week ago Friday, Sam Pullen, Waylon Dukes, and Tim Little visited North Delta schools for Haven Rose, Dukes, Joanna Pullen and Scottie Little. It was slide day and fun day. I think the daddies had more fun than the kids, but all of them enjoyed it and those three little girls were happy their dads were there. You could tell by the look on their little faces.
Joanna Pullen spent the night with her grandmother, Terri Dukes (Gripe-Gripe) along with Terri’s niece, Haven Rose Dukes. Terri lives in a big house and the girls enjoy running circles around and around. I think Terri spoils them just a little bit when they are visiting.
Happy birthday to Mary Brett Hartley on the 1st of June; Teddy Ford on the 2nd; Alex Ballard the 7th; Jake Rose, Kelly Paris, Charles Pyron and Jonnie Sivley share a birthday on the 8th; and sweet Dusty McKibben on the 10th. I pray you all have a great day!
Happy 13th anniversary to Jake and Roseanne Rose on the 2nd! Big boy you are in trouble now…..I’m seeing it says jewelry, concert or a get away trip!
