I hope everyone is having a great week and trying to stay cool. We’ve been in Connecticut the past couple of weeks where the temps are great. Coming back to the South has really been a shock. It wasn’t this hot when we left. We got to see a lot of great things. We went to Plymouth Rock, NYC, D.C., and saw a few lighthouses. We spent a lot of time looking at the Atlantic, and it was a great trip.
Emily had a great time at Yale. Her team won the competition. It was a great learning opportunity. With all that said, it’s great to be back home. We missed our church family so much. Our Mt. Liberty community is such a huge part of our daily lives, and we really miss them when we’re not with them.
Sunday was a wonderful day. Bro. Troy Stark came and gave us his testimony. It was inspiring to hear what the Lord has done in his life. Testimonies are so important. Bro. Grant Coffey gave us the message on the importance of giving a testimony. We read John 9:1–7, 25. The blind man getting his sight back was a direct account of something Jesus did for him.
Our testimony is a way to tell others what Jesus has done in our lives. It’s the story of how Jesus cleansed your life. Telling your testimony glorifies God. It showcases how God has turned you into a conqueror. It demonstrates God’s power. God has no physical limitations. Sharing your testimony shows the love of God. He directly converted us through His son, Jesus Christ. Testimonies promote togetherness in the church. We can relate to others. God doesn’t want us to forget what He has done in our lives. Our testimony is a weapon. Satan has no reign over us. We have eternal life through Jesus. Your struggle has led to a victory. It’s a celebration. We were blind, but now we see.
Sunday night we had our business meeting, and Bro. Pat was elected in as a deacon. Bro. Dave, Cody, and Noah all became official members of the church. Then we had music night. It was such a great fellowship. We have a lot of things coming up. We’re going to have an ice cream social for the kiddos going back to school. We got a water slide, so we will set that up. Then we’re planning a fish fry. We’re so excited about the things coming up.
If you’re looking for a home church that’s not just a church, but a family, we invite you to join us. Services start at 11.
