Tillatoba News
By Patcie Deck
I woke up Thursday morning to a nice, slow rain and cooler temperatures. After finishing all my laundry, I couldn’t decide whether to go back to bed or pick up my crocheting. The bed won.
I hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend.
Our friend Larry Franklin of Hardy visited with us Wednesday. We always enjoy Larry’s visits. I sent him home with two cans of plums and told him to make his wife, Cheryl, a plum cobbler. Larry said she doesn’t care for plums, but I told him she would love them baked in a cobbler. He promised to let me know how it turns out, so we’ll see.
Love and sympathy go out to the family of Michael Gene Jaco. Michael, 55, passed away Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Batesville.
It was great to see my granddaughter, Miranda, and Summer Procella of Covington, Ga., on Friday. Their visits are always too short, but vacation time will be here before long, and then they can spend more time at home with family.
Starting off our September birthdays is sweet Elena Young, who shares her special day with Tommy Parker on the 1st. Jack Bowman and Annette Ford celebrate on the 2nd; Susan Howe on the 3rd; grandson Waylon Dukes and Hannah Beavers on the 5th; Nick Knowles and Aaron Poynor on the 7th; and Emily Tillman Donovan and Nancy Kirk on the 8th. I hope each of you has a wonderful time celebrating your special day.
Thought for the day… it’s not my age that bothers me but the sounds it makes when I get up out of bed.
