WATER VALLEY: Miles Beshears, age 79, of Water Valley, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.
Funeral serices were held in the Coffeeville Church of Christ on Friday, April 20, 2007, at four o’clock in the afternoon with Brother Don Roberson officiating. Burial followed in Ford’s Well Cemetery with Richy Simpson, John Brower, Trey Brower, Kevin Turner, John Turner, and Jason Purdy serving as pallbearers. Seven Oaks Funeral Home, Inc. of Water Valley has charge of arrangements.
A member of the Coffeeville Church of Christ, Miles was the son of the late Fred and Ruby Reynolds Beshears. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Beshears Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Veda Beshears of Water Valley.
WATER VALLEY: Kathleen Potts, age 83, of Water Valley died in Yalobusha General Hospital on Wednesday, April 28, 2007.
She was a member of Mt. Liberty Church.
Funeral services were held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, April 21, 2007, with Bro. Freddie Moorman officiating. Interment was in Oak HIll Cemetery in Water Valley, with Grant Coffee, Danny Lemon, Rodney Neal, David Lowe, Brandon Wrenn, and Piet Zee serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include: two daughters, Bennie Jo Neal of Hernando and Delores Morin of Water Valley; one son, Gary Potts of Water Valley; one sister, Clydell Brown of East Chicago, Indiana; two brothers, Lebron Butts of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Lellon Butts of Southaven; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Esker Potts (July 23, 1996), her parents, Claude and Nora Sanders Butts; brothers, Noel Butts, Newell Butts, Leonard Butts, and Bobby Butts; sisters, Allie Mae Henderson, Eva Laughlin, and Era Bynum.
