It Is Time To Renew Hunting, Fishing Licenses

    Starting July 1 anglers and hunters need to renew their Sportsman License to fish and hunt.

    The 2006-07 license year ended June 30 and now is the time to make sure you’re legal when you hit the water on your next fishing trip or this fall when hunting season begins. A license may be purchased from license agents throughout the state or by calling 1-800-5-GOHUNT (1-800-546-4868) and online at www.mdwfp.com <http://www.mdwfp.com/> .

    MDWFP Assistant Chief of Law Enforcement Steve Adcock said conservation officers throughout the state are checking for current licenses.

    “It’s important for people to go ahead and get their license renewed,” Adcock said. “Checking to make sure people have a valid license is a priority for our officers.”

    A Sportsman License encompasses all game and all seasons, Wildlife Management Area permits, waterfowl stamps, saltwater license and crossbow permits may be added at the time of purchase or separately.
