Mary Ann Kuykendall House

WATER VALLEY: Mary Ann Kuykendall House, 61, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Yalobusha General Hospital at Water Valley.

  She was a member of Everdale M.B. Church, where she was a member of the choir. Mrs. House was a retired educator for the Water Valley School System, with 30 years of service. She was also a cosmetologist and worked at the North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford. She loved cooking, tutoring, church, and helping people.

  Services were held at one o’clock in the afternoon Tuesday, June 10, in Everdale M.B. Church at Water Valley, with Rev. Phillip Brackett officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of arrangements.

  She is survived by: her husband, Hubert House of Water Valley; one daughter, Nicole House of Oxford; a son Eric (Cynthia) House of Greenwood; her mother, Mildred Kuykendall Hewlett of Water Valley; two sisters, Gearldine Kuykendall and Barbara Kuykendall, both of Water Valley; three brothers, Rush Kuykendall, Jr. and Russell Kuykendall, both of Water Valley, and Henry Kuykendall of St. Louis, Missouri; and three granddaughters.

Pearlie Belle McCullar

WATER VALLEY:  Pearlie Belle McCullar, age 89, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS.  She was born January 12, 1919, in Washington, North Carolina to the late James Enouch and Sadie Estelle Cannon Smith.  She was a member of O’Tuckalofa Baptist Church and was married to the late James William McCullar, who passed away in 1994.

Services were held  Monday, June 9 in the Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks. Bro Dan Dickerson officiated.  The committal followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley.

Mrs. McCullar is survived by two daughters, Shirley Kelley of Como, MS and Linda Simpson of Beaumont, TX, and one son, Joe McCullar of Brighton, TN.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Grubb and a son, James (Jimmy) McCullar.

Betty Faye Gordon Turner

WATER VALLEY: Betty Faye Gordon Turner, age 59, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at her home in Water Valley.  She was born June 20, 1948, in Panola County to Robert Gordon  and Mary Alice Gordon York.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Water Valley Church of Christ.

Services were held in the Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, June 9. Bro. David Floyd and Bro. Robert Rawson officiated. Internment followed at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Clinton R. Turner of Water Valley; two daughters, Crystal Hale and Beth Goodwin, both of Water Valley; her mother, Mary Alice York of Batesville; a sister, Kathy Brewer of Batesville; a brother, Jim Gordon of Pope; and one grandson, Clayton Hale.
