Virginia D. Moore

Water Valley: Virginia D. Moore, age 85, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley.  She was born September 17, 1922 in Yalobusha County to the late Lucious and Josephine Ward Buford.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Harris Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Water Valley.

A graveside service will be held at the Pine Grove East Cemetery at 2 p. m. on Wednesday, July 16,  with Rev. Johnny Roland officiating. Jonathon Telford, Arthur Telford, Jerry Jones, Sherman Gooch, Chris Caldwell, and Johnny Eddie will serve as pallbearers.

She is survived by four sons, Willie Hickey, Jimmy Lee Moore, James W. Moore, and Tommy L. Moore all of Water Valley, MS; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Moore, Jr.; and a son, Lawrence (Peter) Moore.
