Ramona Stockton Cotten
OXFORD: Mrs. Ramona Stockton Cotten, 87, a homemaker, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.
A graveside service was held Friday, September 5, 2008, at three o’clock in the afternoon in the Oxford Memorial Cemetery, with Dr. Robert Allen officiating.
Born in Dyer, Tennessee, Mrs. Cotten was married to Robin O. Cotten on September 12, 1941. She was a member of Oxford First Baptist Church, where she volunteered for many years in the Thrift Shop opened by the Church. She was an active participant in the restoration of Cedar Oaks in Oxford, was a member of the Early Bird Bowling League for many years and the Reader’s Guild Book Club.
Survivors include: her husband, Robin O. Cotton, Sr. of Oxford; one daughter, Anne Olivia Cotten Elmore of Cookeville, Tennessee; two sons, Robin Owen Cotten, Jr. of Hernando and Albert S. Cotten of Water Valley; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
