Reginald Herron

BATESVILLE – Rev. Reginald Leonard “Reggie” Herron, 72, died Monday, October 27, 2008, at his home in Batesville.

  The funeral service was held at two o’clock in the afternoon Thursday, October 30, in Rose Hill Baptist Church, in Batesville, with Rev. Eugene Howell officiating. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park, East of Batesville. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville had charge of arrangements.

  Born April 4, 1936 in Jackson, Tenn., Rev. Herron was a son of the late Elwood Herron and Willie Jo Goodwin Herron. He was a retired minister of Rose Hill Baptist Church.

  Survivors include: his wife, Sybil Cagle Herron of Batesville; three daughters, Joyce Tippery and Laura Robison, both of Batesville, and Kathy True of Water Valley; four sons, Mike Herron of Water Valley, Pat Herron, Bill Herron, and Bob Herron, all of Batesville; one sister, Barbara Shappley of Humbolt, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

  He was also preceded in death by brothers, Danny Herron and Billy Goodwin of Brownsville, Tennessee.

  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to Rose Hill Baptist Church.

Willard Eugene Hollister

SENATOBIA – Willard Eugene Hollister, age 79, of Senatobia passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008, at his residence.

  Born August 9, 1929, he was a son of the late Joseph and Erma Anderson Schilling of Lamberton, Minnesota. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from January 1951 to February 1971. He was also a Methodist and a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.

  A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 3, in Oak Hill Cemetery. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley had charge of arrangements.

  Survivors include three sons, David Hollister of Galena, Missouri, John Hollister and Mark Hollister, both of Water Valley; a step-daughter, Denise Bynum of Senatobia; a brother, Wayne Schilling of Peroria, Illinois; four grandchildren, Brent Hollister, Shane Hollister, Laney Coker, and Chastity Heath; and a great-grandchild, Gage Hollister.

  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Lucille Tidwell Hollister; two sons, Joe and Dan Hollister; two sisters, Connie Bendison and Doris Browers; and a granddaughter, Danica Danielle Hollister.
