Cindy Allen
LITITZ, Pa. – Cindy Allen, age 50, formerly of Oxford, died Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Lititz, Pa.
Ms. Allen had moved to Oxford in 1986, but had lived in Pennsylvania since 2001. She was a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley.
The funeral service was held at two o’clock in the afternoon Friday, February 6, in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel, Oxford, with Bro. James West officiating. Interment was in Sylva Rena Cemetery, Water Valley.
Survivors include her mother, Sally Wolverton of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one daughter, Brandy Allen of Pensacola, Fla., two sons, Chris (Gail) Allen and Bill (Jessica) Allen, both of Oxford; three sisters, Jenny Wolverton of Tecate, Mexico, Laura Young of Paris, and Lea Wade of Baghdad, Arizona; two brothers, Lee Wolverton of San Jose, California, and Jack Wolverton of Bullhead City, Arizona; and seven grandchildren.

Opaline Hollowell
WATER VALLEY – Opaline Hollowell, 77, of Water Valley, died Tuesday, February 3, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. She was born on July 27, 1931 in Water Valley to the late Roy and Irene Bundren Miles. She worked many years at Borg-Warner and was a member of Springdale Family Worship Center in Lafayette County.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, February 4, at Campground Cemetery in Lafayette County with Bro. Raymond Aven officiating.
Mrs. Hollowell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Melvin Walls of Water Valley; a step daughter, Tina Hollowell and step-son, Kenneth Hollowell, both of Water Valley; a twin sister, Geraldine Woodard of Batesville; one brother, Reed Ferguson of Water Valley; one granddaughter, Lisa Schmitz of Florence; and three great grandchildren, Derek Schmitz, Danielle Bishop, and Brion Schmitz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hollowell; one daughter, Wanda Worsham; one sister, Marie Shaw, and a grandchild, Gary Schmitz.
Francile Faye Trotter Kirkpatrick
WATER VALLEY – Francile Faye Trotter “Fran” Kirkpatrick, 65, died Thursday, February 5, 2009, in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Waller Funeral Home in Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was the wife of Ernest B. Kirkpatrick of Water Valley. Mr. Kirkpatrick was band director of the Water Valley School Bands in the late ‘50s and early ‘60. Then, for many years was away from Yalobusha County, returning a few years ago. After their return, they were involved with both the Coffeeville and Charleston School systems, retiring a few years ago. Both Kirkpatricks were excellent musicians. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a pianist.
