William Morris Bennett
WINONA– William Morris Bennett, age 84, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at his home near Winona.
The funeral service was held Sunday, August 30, at two o’clock in the afternoon in Kilmichael Baptist Church. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Louise Bennett; four sons, Marshell Bennett, Larry Bennett, Larance Bennett, and Don Bennett, all of Winona; three sisters, Shirley Thompson of Winona, Ruby McCammon of Olive Branch, and Louise Sullivan of Tullahoma, Tenn.; three brothers, James Bennett of Water Valley, Howard Bennett of Winona, and Jimmy Bennett of Rossville, Tenn.
OXFORD – Andy Shaw, age 48, of Oxford, passed away August 31, 2009, in Coffeeville.
Born in Memphis, June 8, 1961, Mr. Shaw was a son of Guy Dale Shaw and Nancy Winders Shaw. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Water Valley. Andy was an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan, and had been co-captain of the Ole Miss Rebel football team during his college years. He was a four-year letterman at the University of Mississippi, a member of the M Club, and a member of Gamma IOTA Sigma Honors fraternity. He worked as an independent insurance agent, serving the North Mississippi Area.
Visitation will be at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley on Wednesday, September 2, from 5 until 8 p.m. Services will be held at ten o’clock in the morning Thursday, September 3 at First Baptist Church in Water Valley, with Dr. Randy Bain and Bro. Gary Richardson presiding. Burial will follow in Harbour Cemetery in Coffeeville, with Terry Dalton, Kenny Hooper, Jimmy Maynor, Danny Robertson, Steve Edwards, Don Larson, Ken Crain, J. B Purvis, and Barrett Larson as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Shaw, Eugene Shaw, Steve McClusky, Mike Wall, Billy Dean Fielder, Michael Misita, Andy Misita, Brian Kennedy, and Keith Heyward.
Survivors include: his wife, Susie Misita Shaw of Oxford; a daughter, Austin Shaw of Oxford; a sister, Marty Shaw of Pensacola, Fla.; his mother, Nancy Winders Shaw of Water Valley; and his father, Guy Dale Shaw of Coffeeville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Adele Shaw.
