Beverly Freer and Janet Ross Caulder display a quilt like those that will compete in the Front Street Quilt Show held at the Fire Station.

“Grab A ‘Piece’ of Heaven – Celebrate Coffeeville 2011” T-shirt shown by Dixie Purdy, Deborah Bourn, and Pamela Redwine will sell for $15.
Sponsors of the event include the Coffeeville Chamber of Commerce, Delta Distributors, Bill Rowsey Telephone Service, Mike Thornton Land Surveyor, Coffeeville Courier, Mechanics Bank, Coffeeville Insurance Agency, Inc. (Tyler Wortham, agent), State Farm Insurance, (Hilly Griffin, agent), Renasant Bank, The Drug Store, (Joe & Deborah Bourn); Seven Oaks Funeral Home, the Coffeeville Women’s League and the Yalobusha Historical Society. Without the assistance from these sponsors, the Celebration Day would not be possible.
The Chamber will be selling tickets for three $100 gas cards to be given away on the Celebration Day. Tickets may be purchased from Chamber members, at the Chamber office, or at the Chamber tent on October 1. Tickets will sell at $2 per chance or three for $5. Winners do not have to be present to win. Door prizes will be given away on the event day. A $1 donation to the Chamber will enter your name in the all day drawing. Winners do not have to be present to win. There will also be a 50/50 cash bucket draw down at $1 per chance.
Arts and crafts booth spaces and Food Vendor spaces have filled up quickly. No person or vendors will be allowed to set up in the downtown area without registering and paying proper fees to the Chamber of Commerce. Vendors will be allowed to set up on Friday, prior to the event and remain open throughout the event on Saturday.
The General Coffee Car & Bike Show registrants may register ahead of the event or on the day of the event. Registration begins at 8 a.m. on October 1. The entry for the first vehicle is $20, and $10 for each additional vehicle. Registration will be at the Chamber tent.
The Front Street Quilt Show will be held in the Fire Station. Ladies are asked to have their quilts ready for display by 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for best quilts.
Class reunion groups need to contact the Chamber for tent spaces. These spaces are free of charge and no cooking will be allowed in this area. The class reunion area will be located on Front St.
Classes that have reserved spaces will need to check in at the Chamber tent to be directed to their spaces. Several classes have already reserved spots, so we are looking for a good crowd to visit and remember the good old days of growing up in Coffeeville.
The kids’ play area includes inflatables and games. Tickets will be available in the kids’ area on the event day. The Yalobusha Historical Society, located downtown on Depot St., will host an open house for all attendees to visit and catch a moment back in time of the town’s history.
The Coffeeville Friends of the Library will host a book sale, with hourly surprise giveaways, to support the local library at the library.
A youth chicken wing cook-off for ages 8-16 will be held with registration at the Chamber tent beginning at 9 a.m. The cook-off is being sponsored by the Yalobusha Extension Service, the 4-H Club, and the Coffeeville Chamber. Any young person interested in entering this event may call the Extension Service at 662-675-2730 to pre-register. You may also register on the event day. Prizes will be awarded to the best “wing cookers!” The Yalobusha General Hospital will sponsor a free Health Fair, with blood sugar and blood pressure screenings plus much more.
Live entertainment starts at 9 a.m. at the bandstand. The day will conclude with the Street Dance On Front Street from 7 to 11 p.m., featuring the popular Mississippi band, The Delta Soul Review.
T-shirts for the event, which capture the Celebration Day theme, “Grab A ‘Peace’ of Heaven- Celebrate Coffeeville 2011” are on sale from the Chamber for $15. Children’s and adult sizes are available. T-shirts may be purchased at the Coffeeville Insurance Agency or from the Chamber tent on the event day.
