WATER VALLEY — Miles Memorial CME Church will host the Walton/Dowsing Church and Community Scholarship Banquet on Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at Fountain Square, 218 Frostland Drive.
Sponsored by the church’s Women’s Missionary Society, the event will honor high school seniors from the Class of 2026 who have been selected to receive scholarships.
U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, who represents Mississippi’s 2nd Congressional District, will serve as the guest speaker.
Tickets are $25 per person, with a limited number of 150 available. The deadline to purchase tickets is April 6.

Those unable to attend may donate by sending checks or money orders payable to Miles Memorial CME Church, P.O. Box 496, Water Valley, MS 38965.
Organizers encourage churches, family members and friends to attend as the community comes together to celebrate students, enjoy a meal and support future leaders.
The event is led by the Rev. Stacey Golliday, pastor, and Rubye Carr, missionary president.
