WATER VALLEY—Geneva Hervey, age 48, died Friday, January 11, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born January 6, 1965, in Water Valley, she was a daughter of James Earl Johnson and the late Sarah Houston. Geneva was a member of Union Hill C.M.E. Church of Water Valley. She enjoyed cooking barbecue, listening to music and dancing. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed life and loved her family and grandchildren dearly.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, January 19, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the City Auditorium in Water Valley. The funeral service will follow at one o’clock in the afternoon in the auditorium with Rev. Cleve Alexander officiating. Jerry Telford, Tiny Martin, Clyde Pegues, Deshaun Kurtz, Hugh Caldwell, Derrick Pomerlee, Jarvis Robertson, and Frederick Campbell will serve as pallbearers. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Patrice Walker of Water Valley and Lakeisha Walker of Coffeeville; sons, Michael Hervey and Wesley Walker, both of Water Valley; three sisters, Cassie Houston (Chris), Annie Hervey, and Shenetha Hawkins (Craig), all of Water Valley; six brothers, Goldie Hervey (Mary), Michael Houston, Johnny Hervey, Bobby Hervey, and Johnny C. Hervey, all of Water Valley; and Terry Hervey (Glenda) of Enid; her father, James Earl Johnson of Water Valley; grandparents, Cloiser Hervey and Deolar Johnson, both of Water Valley; and six grandchildren, Quatricia Frankin, Kentrell Walker, Jacquarian Hervey, Lafaysia Martin, Alexandra Hervey, and Michael Hervey, Jr.
In addition to her mother, Geneva was preceded in death by a daughter, Felicia Walker, and two brothers, Bobby Hervey and R. V. Hervey.
Hailey Holland Marmino
Hailey Holland Marmino, age 18, passed away Friday evening, January 11, 2013, in Water Valley after an auto accident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday and continue until service time.
Hailey was born September 19, 1994 in Memphis, Tenn. to Anissa Nicole Maino Sanders and Johnny Charles Holland. Hailey was of the Baptist faith.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Erick Marmino of Batesville; mother and step-father, Anissa Nicole Maino Sanders and William Eddie Holloway of Batesville; father: John Holland of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Dixie Holland of Michigan, Katherine Holland of Michigan and Sierra Maino of Batesville; two brothers, Jason and Justin Holloway of Batesville; maternal grandmother, Paula Shearon Cordell of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; maternal grandfather, Jerry Maino and wife Trish of Memphis, Tenn.; maternal great-grandmother, Paula Vivian Bartels of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; and paternal grandmother, Veda Doris Holland of Bolivar, Tenn.
