Milton Lavert Musick

WATER VALLEY–Milton Lavert Musick, 88, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Yalobusha County Nursing Home at Water Valley.
  The funeral service was held Tuesday, July 16, at one o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with Rev. David Ard officiating. Burial followed in Cambridge Cemetery. Visitation was held prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m.
    Born in Denmark, Mr. Musick served as a Sergeant in he United States Army during World War II, before he was honorably discharged in 1943. He worked hard his entire life, but looked forward to spending his free time outdoors, often hunting and fishing. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, Mr. Musick enjoyed spending time with his family and was a devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Kilgore, and his parents, Emmett and Ethel Mae Welch Musick.
     Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Tabor Musick of Oxford; two daughters, Linda Allgood (Jimmy) of Oxford, and Brenda Kilgore (Leonard) of Water Valley; a sister, Laverne Dillard of Oxford; a brother, Everett Musick of Batesville; and three grandchildren, Angie Rankin, Lauren Kilgore, and Georgia Kilgore.
    In honor of Mr. Musick’s service to his country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
